Contact Us
Most of what reaches our inbox is one of four things. Somebody has a line to submit. Somebody wrote a line we published and wants credit or removal. Somebody spotted a typo that ruins the joke. Or somebody has a business proposal.
All four are welcome, and the second one matters more than people expect, so it has its own section below.
Our Email Address
contact@pickup-lines.org
That is the only address we use. Messages reach the people who run the site, no ticket system sits in between, and replies are written by a person.
We keep one inbox rather than separate addresses for submissions, corrections, and commercial enquiries. Splitting them would only create more places for a message to go unread.
Submitting a Line
This is the most common reason people write, and the site is better for it.
What to Send
The line, and which category you think it belongs in. That is all we need.
Where It Came From
If you wrote it, say so and tell us how you would like to be credited, or whether you would rather not be. If you heard it somewhere, say that instead. If you found it on another site, please do not send it.
We would rather publish fifty lines we can account for than five hundred scraped from everywhere.
What Happens Next
We read every submission. Most do not get published, usually because the line already exists somewhere on the site in a slightly different form, or because it lands somewhere we do not go. You get a reply either way.
What We Will Not Publish
Anything targeting someone’s race, religion, body, disability, or identity. Anything sexually explicit beyond what belongs in a clearly labelled adult category. Anything that reads as harassment dressed up as a joke.
A line that only works if the other person feels small is not a pickup line, it is an insult with a smile on it.
If You Wrote Something We Published
Lines circulate. Most of what exists in this genre is folk material with no traceable author, and that is genuinely how most of it works. But some lines do have a writer, and sometimes that writer finds their work on a site like ours.
If that is you, write to us. We will credit you, link to you, or take the line down, whichever you prefer. You do not need to prove anything formally and you will not be asked to justify the request. Tell us which line and what you want, and it is done.
This is the request we handle fastest.
Why the Inbox Stays Open
A site that publishes lines people say to each other should be reachable by the people who say them, and by the people who had them said to them.
Readers Catch What We Miss
We read our own pages too many times to see them clearly. A line that seemed harmless when it was added sometimes reads differently a year later, and the person who notices is almost always a reader rather than us.
We Would Rather Be Told Than Ranked Down
If something on this site is wrong, misattributed, or unkind, the version of events where a reader emails us is better for everyone than the version where it simply sits there collecting visits.
No Form, No Account
There is no contact form to fill in and no login to create. An email address is enough, and you can write in whatever language you are comfortable with, though replies will be in English.
A Note on Tone
This is a light-hearted site and most of our correspondence is light-hearted too. That said, if you are writing about something serious, a line that named you, a message you received that upset you, or content you want taken down, say so plainly and it will be handled that way. Nobody will respond to a serious email with a joke.
What Else You Can Write About
Corrections
Typos, broken formatting, a line that lost a word somewhere and no longer makes sense. These matter more on a site like this than most, because a joke with a missing word is not a joke.
Category Suggestions
If there is a situation, theme, or occasion we have not covered and you think there should be a page for it, tell us.
Something That Should Not Be Here
If a line on this site reads as cruel, targets a group, or sits in the wrong category, point us at it. We will look at it properly rather than defending it because it was already published.
Anything Else
Plain language is fine. No format to follow.
Where We Are
This website, pickup-lines.org, is operated from the United States.
Postal Address
3701 Clay Products Dr
Anchorage, Alaska 99517
United States
Telephone
(907) 677-0769
We publish real contact details because a site should say who is behind it. For anything substantive, email is better, since it gives both of us a record.
What We Cannot Help With
Telling You What to Say to a Specific Person
We get these and we understand the impulse, but we are a collection of lines rather than a dating service. We do not know the person, the context, or the history, and a stranger guessing at that does you no favours.
Dating or Relationship Advice
Nothing on this site is advice about your relationship or your situation. If something is genuinely weighing on you, a friend who knows you will be more use than any website, and a professional more use still.
Making Anyone Like You
No line does this. A line is an opening, nothing more, and whether it lands depends almost entirely on timing, context, and whether the other person wanted to be approached at all.
Legal Advice
We can describe what published terms say. We cannot tell you what they mean for your situation.
A Word About Using These
This is a site full of jokes, and it is worth saying how they are meant to be used.
The best outcome of a pickup line is that two people laugh. That is the whole thing. It works when somebody is open to being approached, it does not work when they are not, and no cleverness in the wording changes which of those is true.
Read the room. If somebody is working, wearing headphones, waiting for someone, or has already turned away, the line is not the problem and a better one will not help. If an opener does not land, the answer is to leave it there graciously rather than to try the next one on the list.
We write our pages with that in mind, and we would rather say it plainly than have the site read as a script for wearing somebody down.
We Never Ask for Anything Personal
We will never ask for a password, a verification code, payment details, or access to any account. There is no reason we would.
If a message arrives claiming to be from this site and asking for any of that, it is not from us. We write only from the address on this page, and we never charge for anything.
Business, Advertising and Partnership Enquiries
We consider advertising placements and collaborations with tools, apps, and services relevant to people who enjoy this kind of content.
Make the First Message Complete
Send what you are offering, what you want in return, the format, and your timeline. A single line asking for a call, with nothing attached, generally does not get one.
What We Decline
Anything that would mislead readers or present paid placement as an honest recommendation. Anything promising guaranteed dating results or claiming to teach manipulation or persuasion tactics for getting past somebody’s reluctance. Anything adult-oriented beyond what fits this site. Those are refused regardless of the figure attached.
Copyright and Removal Requests
If you hold rights to material you believe appears on this site, write to contact@pickup-lines.org with the exact URL, a description of the work, your contact details, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or act for them.
If an example, screenshot, or line on this site mentions you by name or handle, tell us and we will remove it. No copyright claim needed. The DMCA page sets out both routes in full.
How Long We Take
Author credit and removal requests move to the front, followed by corrections. Everything else is handled in order of arrival.
Our normal window is 24 to 72 hours. Submissions sometimes take a little longer because they are reviewed in batches, but you will hear back either way.
Privacy When You Write
We receive whatever you choose to send, usually a name, an email address, and a message. It is used to answer you and nothing else.
No mailing lists, no sharing with third parties, no marketing use. Correspondence is deleted once it has served its purpose. The Privacy Policy covers the detail.
